Common questions

Honest answers.

01
Is this tool really free?
Yes. DentCheck is free for everyone in Canada. We don’t charge for results, don’t sell data, and don’t take referral fees from dental clinics.
02
Where do your cost estimates come from?
For British Columbia and Alberta, we use the official 2026 dental fee guides published by each province’s dental association. For other provinces, dentists’ fee guides aren’t published publicly, so we estimate costs using the 2026 Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) fee schedule for that province, adjusted to reflect typical local pricing. Every dentist sets their own fees, so treat all amounts as estimates and confirm the exact cost with your dental office before treatment.
03
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can run the full check anonymously. Nothing is stored on our servers. Your answers stay on your device.
04
Does CDCP mean my dental care is free?
Not always. CDCP covers most preventive and basic restorative care at the federal fee guide rate. Some procedures still carry a co-pay, and some specialty work isn’t covered. We show you exactly what to expect.
05
Can I use multiple programs together?
Sometimes. Coordination rules vary by province. We’ll flag any overlapping programs you qualify for and show you the order of billing.
06
Who built this?
A small independent team of designers and engineers. We’re not affiliated with any government, insurer, or dental association.
